When you tell a story well, your audience may, for a moment, travel back with you to the time and place you are describing.
This is your ultimate goal.
You want your audience to forget that you and the present moment exists.
Relieving your audience of space and time is easier to achieve when the conditions are just right.
Dimmed lights and relaxed, comfortable setting works wonders.
Once the audience is in this zone, the zone you’ve created for them (your very own twilight zone), you want to keep them there for as long as possible. Preferably until the end of the story.
Getting your audience into the zone can be difficult, and it often won’t happen.
