Photos from Singapore

I really can’t remember when I was last in Singapore, but I know I’ve been there a couple of times.

Once was to learn parkour from the guys at A2 Movements. I spent a few weeks there I think and just trained with them every day. It was good fun. I wrote Essential Parkour Training from what I learned.

None of these photos have anything to do with parkour.

Clarke Quay

This photo is of Clarke Quay. Clarke Quay has some historical significance, though I think these days it is visited mostly for its restaurants, boat rides, and nightlife.

Gardens by the Bay

Gardens by the Bay is one of my favorite places in Singapore. It’s nice to walk around and the lit up structures are interesting.

Peranakan houses

Joo Chiat is an area in Singapore known for its Peranakan houses. Peranakan houses blend Chinese, Malay, and European architectural styles.

Kent Ridge Park

Kent Ridge Park encompasses about 50 acres and is known for its biodiversity. It’s a nice place to spend some time in nature. It was also a battleground during World War 2.

Singapore Flyer, the Art and Science Museum, and the Marina Bay Sands casino

This final panorama captures the Singapore Flyer, the Art and Science Museum, and the Marina Bay Sands casino. I’ve not been on or inside any of them.

To be honest, Singapore doesn’t do much for me. There’s nothing about it I specifically dislike. It’s a very well run country and you still get that “only in Asia” feel about it. I guess it's just that if I’m going to Asia then Singapore isn’t high on the list.
